What Is Video Production? +

video production consists of writing, shooting and editing. That’s it. It’s that simple.

You need a script to go by (or at least an outline). You need to shoot or otherwise produce images that move the script along and you have to edit those images together.

What software do you use for editing? +
We edit with Premiere Pro and Premiere X, Sony Vegas Pro, Adobe Premiere and After Effects.
What should we do about music for our video? +

We use royalty free sound tracks so you can publish your video anywhere without worrying about the sound track. You can be involved in the selection or we can choose it for you. Some clients want to use a music track they produced themselves or they may know a music producer. As long as a release form is signed, we can use that music, too.

What’s the process for getting a video produced? +
We will speak with you about your needs then give you a quote. It’s pretty simple. We always show up on time, and you can rest easy once the paperwork is signed. We are professionals!
Can we use our employees in the video or do we need to hire talent? +

It depends. Most of the time using your employees is a great option. One of our best shoots was with a team of people who acted out parts in a training video. They put everything into it and they were really stars! Or, we can hire experienced talent if you need someone who has lots of experience on camera. Sometimes hiring talented people gets better results because it takes less time and you get a more professional looking outcome. If you would like to use employees, it’s best if they are willing and not asked to be on camera without really wanting to be on camera. We have photo release forms all talent can sign that protects both your company and our company.

Can we shoot our own footage and have you edit the footage? +
Yes, let’s talk about it. If the footage was produced professionally and is high quality, we can help you. Let us take a look at the footage then we can let you know if we can make it work for you. Footage that is shot professionally would be fine. Some clients have found they get more professional quality video outcomes if they have us re-shoot their footage. Not even the most talented and experienced pros can take video that wasn’t shot well and make it look great.
Will shooting the video be very disruptive in our business environment? +
No. We have shot many videos in live business environments with very little disruption. We can also shoot in the evenings or on weekends if that works better for you. However, shooting a video on site can be very exciting for the staff because it’s not done every day and it’s something they know will help your business grow. We will help you with a communication plan so your employees know what’s going on, why you are shooting the video, and what to do if they don’t want to be shown on camera. Getting employees involved is one more way to get the most from your video production. It’s really fun.
We don’t have a very large budget. Can you still help us? +

Yes. We have video packages for most budgets. If we can’t help you we will give you some ideas about how you can get your video produced within your budget restrictions.

If we decide to hire you, what should we do? +
Let’s get together so we can talk about what you have in mind. We’ll ask some questions to gain a better understanding of what you’d like to accomplish. Then we’ll create a proposal for you in writing that outlines the process and the cost. We’d like to know the answers to these questions, so you may want to discuss them with the people at your company who’ll be involved in the process. Then call us or email us! Here are some questions we’ll ask you.

  • Where will the video be shown? (On your website, at an event, on television, etc.)
  • How long would you like it to be?
  • What would you like the video to accomplish? (What do you want the viewers to do or think once they have watched the video?)
  • How many people will see it?
  • Who will appear in the video?
  • What is your budget?
  • How soon do you need it?

Why use Animation? +

The answer to this one is simple: Win More Cases and elicit far better settlement offers. Here are just a few of the reasons Animation is so incredibly powerful:

Animation has the unique ability to bring a clarity to, and an understanding of an event unlike any other medium with the possible exception of an actual eyewitness video. It can vicariously take your jury to the scene of the event as it unfolds, effectively making them your own eyewitnesses. For example, through Superman-like x-ray vision they can peer inside a complex piece of equipment and see exactly how a critical mechanical component failed and how it resulted in an accident; They can sit in the driver’s seat of a vehicle about to collide with a truck at an approaching intersection; They can can sit in the driver’s seat of that very same truck and see what that driver could see; They can stand on the sidewalk and view the same accident from the perspective of an eyewitness who saw the entire event unfold before her, or watch the event again from an overhead bird’s eye view.

A reconstruction can also bring together complex issues, concepts and expert opinions into one clearly understandable visualization of an event. For example, in an aviation accident case you might have several experts from various specific disciplines: meteorologists; radar experts; engine and maintenance experts; pilot experts; airframe experts; metallurgists, etc. A forensic animation can be produced that incorporates the opinions of all these experts into a single event reconstruction. Each expert, during their testimony, can then refer to that element of the animation that relates specifically to his or her area of expertise. This powerful capability allows the jurors to see exactly how all these different elements came together to result in the accident case before them. And, just as importantly, because of the compelling nature of animation and the concise clarity of a visualization, they will all understand the event and your argument in exactly the same way despite their varied backgrounds.

To quote Confucius, “I hear and I forget. I see and I remember.”

Animation also has the benefit of not only being a compelling visual experience for the jury but one which can be shown multiple times throughout the trial further implanting your theory of the case in their minds. The three principal elements of memory retention are: Primacy, frequency and recency. Stated another way: “Opening statement; expert testimony, expert testimony, expert testimony; closing argument.” Each of these is an opportunity to have the jury view your animated reconstruction again and again.

If “A picture is worth a thousand words”, just imagine how many words an animated reconstruction is worth!

How long does it take to produce an animation? +

Production time usually runs from 6 to 12 weeks depending upon the complexity and length of the animation. This allows enough time to provide our clients with an animation proof and to make any necessary changes or modifications before final production begins. Depending on our production demands shorter turn times may be possible. When it comes to commissioning an animation production... "THE SOONER THE BETTER". An animated reconstruction is a process, not a product and requires adequate time for development, modification and refinement. In order to provide the most compelling and effective production possible allow sufficient time. Keep in mind also, that often the most effective use of an animation can be in negotiations and mediation, long before trial.

What is the animation based on? +
These productions are generally based on physical evidence as well as information, data, observations, findings and opinions of your experts and eyewitness observations. The virtual scenes and objects are modeled from the drawings, charts and photographs provided by your experts in a case, ie. accident reconstructionists, engineers, physicians, etc.
What is branding? +

Branding is about developing a customized, uniform image for your business—your brand—internally and externally. It attracts attention, tells your story, sets you apart from your competition, and makes it easy for them to buy. Successful brand marketing is a crucial factor in increasing initial and repeat sales.

Branding speeds up your success timeline by integrating many elements of your marketing and advertising at one time. Instead of writing your marketing plan one quarter and designing your logo the next, Spot-On Branding works on them at the same time, as two elements of one big picture: your brand.

What is the benefit of branding? +

It used to be that all a business owner needed to be successful was a business card, a yellow pages ad, and a decent product or service. That won’t work anymore. Now you need a website, marketing collateral, brochures, and so much more.

Spot-On Branding ensures that your message to prospects is consistent and clear. Part of the brand-building process we help with is crafting marketing and advertising strategies to entice clients to buy—not just once, but as often as possible. If we can create raving fans, your business will be successful beyond your wildest dreams.

Why should I brand? +
If your brand identity isn’t strong and recognizable, there’s a disconnect between you and your audience. You’re sending the wrong message or sending too many jumbled messages. You want a brand image for your company that not only creates awareness but also encourages prospects to buy and cultivates their loyalty. Spot-On Branding can do this for you in the quickest, most direct way possible. Branding is a strategic plan to tell your story to the world!
What is the difference between a company logo and branding? +

Your logo is just one piece of the puzzle that is your brand. Your logo is important, and it plays a significant role in your brand marketing because it’s the visual representation of your company. But it’s not your brand. Branding ties together all the elements of your marketing and advertising—including, but not limited to, your company logo.

What do you offer that others don’t? +
Ears that actually listen to your goals, eyes that see your company as the successful, distinctive creation it is, and hands that craft and manage your brand to take your story to the next level. We see the bigger picture of your successful business, and we help you get where you want to go with a comprehensive plan: branding.
I tried working with someone on my company logo once, but she didn’t really listen to me, and I don’t like my logo. How are you different? +
At Spot-On Branding, we take the time to listen to you, and we want to hear it all—good and bad. We need to know everything about your company and your story in order to brand you properly. We don’t know what you want—you do, even though you may not realize it—until we delve into your story. Then, we narrow down what you need, create your vision, and deliver it to you. But you’re in charge.
How often should I update my brand image? +

Most big companies freshen up their brand image every 7–10 years, regardless of circumstances, by doing minor alterations. Changing fonts and color combinations or eliminating shapes can keep your company from looking obsolete. If your company has experienced a transformation such as a merger, a new company direction, or a company name change, you need to update your company’s brand identity.

Can I afford to hire a professional branding company? +

Yes, you can. You would be surprised at our range of services and how affordable our packages are. When you’re molding something as important as your brand identity, you need to interview branding specialists to find the right person for you.

Spot-On Branding needs to communicate your vision. The right person will listen, help you determine what is best for you, and get it right the first time—saving you money. Hiring Cheap Brands, Inc., is almost always a disappointment because they won’t listen, they can’t and don’t take the time to learn your story, and you end up on the revisions merry-go-round because they just don’t get you and your message.

How much will it cost? +
The biggest factor in the overall cost of a project is the number of photos being ordered. Because it’s much more efficient to shoot one large project versus several smaller ones, our pricing model includes significant discounts as the size of your order increases.
